1. Who we are

AudaStories is provided by Explorer Innovations Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 14639977. In these terms, "we", "us", and "our" mean that company. "You" means the person using the service.

2. Your account

You need an account to save your library and to buy Plus. You are responsible for the credentials you use. Tell us quickly if you think someone else has your account. You may close your account at any time from the Settings screen; closing it deletes your data as described in the privacy policy.

3. Acceptable use

When you use AudaStories, please do not:

• Scrape, crawl, or automate the service. The web and app are for listening, not bulk extraction.
• Circumvent quotas, rate limits, or the paywall.
• Reverse engineer the streaming protocol or otherwise interfere with how the audio is delivered.
• Use the report or flag feature to harass other users or to submit false reports.
• Use the service to do anything unlawful in your jurisdiction or ours.

4. Free tier, unlocks, and Plus

Every account gets a free monthly listening allowance. The app shows you how many minutes you have left in the current month. When you open a new story we add its length to your usage; once your usage meets or exceeds the allowance, opening another new story prompts you to upgrade. Any story you have already opened stays accessible in your library forever, with no further cost against the allowance.

Plus increases your monthly allowance and unlocks long-form stories and offline downloads. It is billed through your Apple or Google account; the current allowance and price (including any applicable tax) are shown in the app and in your app store before you confirm the purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each period until you cancel. We may adjust the free allowance, the Plus allowance, or the price; the new figures appear in the app and the store before any renewal at a changed rate.

Cancel any time from your device settings: on iOS, Settings > your name > Subscriptions; on Android, Google Play > Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period and we do not pro-rate. We do not process payments directly, so refund requests go through Apple or Google.

Apple Inc. is a third-party beneficiary of these terms as they apply to your use of the iOS app, and has the right to enforce them against you. Apple has no warranty or support obligations for the app. Google LLC is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no warranty or support obligations in relation to it.

5. What the stories are

Every story is written by a language model from the relevant Wikipedia article and voiced by an AI narrator. It is a derivative work, not a researched piece. It can be wrong. Do not cite AudaStories as a source; follow the Wikipedia link on each story page.

AudaStories is a tour, not a replacement for Wikipedia or any other reference.

6. Intellectual property

Our generated scripts are released under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0, with attribution to the Wikipedia contributors who wrote the source article and to AudaStories for the adaptation. You can reuse the text; you must keep the attribution and licence it alike.

The audio narration is copyright Explorer Innovations Ltd, all rights reserved. You may stream it from the app and the website for personal listening. You may not download it outside the app, rebroadcast it, or reuse it in other works without our written permission.

Images on the site come from Wikimedia Commons under their individual licences. Credit and licence sit alongside every image.

7. Takedowns and reports

If you believe content infringes a right or should be removed, follow the takedowns process. To report a factual error or a problem with a specific story, tap the flag button in the player or email [email protected].

8. Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided as-is. We make no warranty that it is accurate, always available, or fit for any particular purpose. We do not exclude liability where the law does not allow us to, including for death, personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud.

Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of AudaStories in any 12-month period is capped at the greater of £100 or the total amount you paid us for the service in that period. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

9. Termination

You can stop using AudaStories at any time. We can suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, is used fraudulently, or causes a legal or operational risk. Where we can, we will tell you first.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top reflects the latest version. For significant changes we will tell you in the app before they take effect. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of London have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except that nothing here prevents a consumer relying on mandatory protections of the laws of their home country.
