The Transylvanian Saxons are a predominantly Germanic people who settled in Transylvania in various waves from the 12th-century Ostsiedlung to the mid-19th century. They were mostly Luxembourgish, Frankish, from the Low Countries as well as Alsace in modern day France, but also from other parts of present-day Germany.
