A moped is a type of small and inexpensive motorcycle, generally having a less stringent licensing requirement than full motorcycles or automobiles. Historically, the term exclusively meant a motorcycle with bicycle pedals. Mopeds typically travel only slightly faster than bicycles on public roads.
