Amr ibn Hisham, better known as Abu Jahl known before Islam as Abu al-Hakam, was the Meccan Qurayshite polytheist leader known for his opposition to the Islamic prophet Muhammad. He was the most prominent flag-bearer of opposition towards Islam.
