The 1987 Lieyu massacre occurred on 7 March 1987 at Donggang Bay, Lieyu Island, Kinmen, Fuchien, Republic of China (ROC) when soldiers from the ROC Army's 158 Heavy Infantry Division killed 24 Vietnamese refugees on the shoreline of Donggang Bay, including eight children, five women and eleven men. The ROC military officially denied the massacre and defined it as an incident of "accidental manslaughter" (誤殺事件), hence referring to it as the March 7 Incident (三七事件) or Donggang Incident (東崗事件).
